The artistic idea behind the opera „STROM“ is to record sounds from various power sources that surround us every day and to let them define the entire tone of the dramatic work. The performance venue is filled with this network of „power sounds“. The dramatic basis for this work is built by a plot taken from the Greek ancient work: „The Bakchen“ after Euripides. The plot oft he „Bakchen“ involves the god Dionysos and Pentheus, who desperately tries to maintain peace and order in his town Theben despite the irruptive crowd oft he Bacchantinnen. Love, rapture and insanity build a plot that leads to an ecstatic stream of sound for more than 120 minutes
